Leading global supplier of business management software, Sage Business Solutions Pty Ltd will be deploying its ERP solution at Guru Labels, an Australian leader in graphic design, printing, packaging and promotional merchandise.
Once fully deployed, Sage ERP X3 will integrate data from Guru Labels’ manufacturing, inventory, purchasing, finance, CRM and sales systems, assisting the organisation to improve manufacturing production schedules and job schedules, reduce costs, retain margins and provide rapid responses to quotes.
The ERP software deployment by Sage implementation partner, Turnaround Services Global will save Guru Labels $100,000 each year with the automation of the company’s point of sale and order processing. Key benefits also include more than 50% reduction in turnaround time for quoting custom print orders and 20% reduction in inventory holding costs.
Guru Labels was previously using standalone Lotus Notes, MYOB and a home-grown inventory system for several years. Lack of integration between these software packages led to the company seeking a solution that would cover all aspects of their business operation in a single package.
Guru Labels sought a vendor that could rapidly customise their software for the company’s specific requirements while at the same time provide a web-based interface that would enable their customers to place orders any time from any location.
Sage was identified as the ideal solution. Importantly, Sage ERP X3 also offers integrated receivables, inventory and payables, which would help to reduce working capital costs by at least 10%, explained Nick Lowe, Sales Director at Guru Labels.
Designed for mid-sized and larger companies, Sage ERP X3 offers a complete web-based integrated ERP system, which provides a standardised ERP functionality for organisations such as manufacturers that require integrated financial accounting.
For medium-sized businesses such as Guru Labels, Sage ERP X3 can speed up system deployment using pre-set parameters specifically designed for manufacturing as well as predefined user roles and process flows. In addition to an intuitive interface design and simple system administration for ease of use, the system comes with multiple modules that ensure users don't have to pay for functionality they don't need. Modules can be added as business requirements change and users can automate triggers and alerts so that they don’t miss important data.
Web-based ordering will also enable customers to order online instead of placing a manual order through the Guru Labels sales department, ensuring timely job processing.
Guru Labels will introduce Sage ERP X3 in a staged roll-out, initially commencing in its manufacturing facility where the company aims to gain real-time customer order data, which will be fed into its production lines to provide better efficiencies in job forecasting.
Guru Labels expects the ERP system to enhance their ability to see where workflow can be improved, reducing lead times for customers and enabling the company to readily update customers on their specific jobs.
