Can you please clarify for my own understanding around the inspection of anchorages and static lines who is deemed a competent person as per AS/NZS 1891.4:2009, do they require general training or do they need to do specific training for various types of equipment to be competent?
"1.4.2 Competent person
A person who has, through a combination of training, qualification and experience, acquired knowledge and skills enabling that person to correctly perform a specified task." The standard has a very comprehensive explanation on the levels of training required for each height safety task. I would suggest you have a read of this section: APPENDIX E GUIDANCE FOR THE PROVISION OF TRAINING AND COMPETENCY
