Safetech has been named the 2006 Telstra Victorian Business of the Year, after being selected from a field of some of the state’s best businesses.
The successful business was awarded the prize by Ashley Nicholls, Co-Managing Director of Productions Parts Pty Ltd, 2005 Telstra Victorian Business of the Year; and Deena Shiff, General Managing Director for Telstra Business and Telstra Business Awards Ambassador, at the black tie Awards evening at the Sofitel in Melbourne last night.
Safetech specialises in the design and manufacture of materials handling equipment to provide solutions to manual handling problems. The products are designed to improve worker safety and increase productivity in the workplace.
Managing Director, Lindsay Wakefield and his team are proud of the fact that throughout Australia, there are more than 10,000 Safetech products in daily operation.
The business manufactures products for four major categories; lifting and leveling, pallet handling, overhead handling solutions and stretch wrapping. Safetech also has a service division, ensuring that they can service products they manufacture themselves.
Established in 1985, Safetech Pty Ltd is located in Moe and employs nearly 50 staff.
Safetech also won the Panasonic Business Australia Award and the AMP Innovation Award before going on to win the state title.
