Two of Australia’s major grocery retail chains both operating between 450 and 700 stores Australia-wide. Both retail chains dispense excess pallets daily which are kept on their factory floor.

Due to the excess pallets, they needed a device which could dispense more than one pallet at a time. One company required a total of thirty pallet dispensers; while the other required a thirty second cycle time (two (2) pallets per cycle).

Removing pallets individually from a stack of pallets by hand proved to be hazardous for the operator and caused damage to pallets as they hit the floor.

Restricted work space seemed cause for less productivity, allowing them only one side for entry. There was a ceiling height restriction which the product had to be modified to allow a shorter pallet cage and also a request for a left-handed dispenser, meaning the control panel would be located on the left-hand side of Hopper 1.

Safetech  AS4024.1 Double Stack Hook Tyne Dispenser allows dispensing of two pallets per cycle. The Double Stack Hook Tyne Dispenser incorporates two separate pallet hoppers, one for each stack. Each hopper can be raised and lowered independently of the other so that a single pallet can be dispensed from either stack.

Once the pallet(s) are removed, the pallet truck’s absence is detected by the Photoeye across the pallet truck openings and the pallet dispense cycle automatically initiates to release another pallet(s).

Pallets are automatically dispensed as each pallet is removed, giving constant flow for operation; total turnaround of two pallets per cycle. The area is now pedestrian traffic only as the forklift loads pallets into front of Dispenser and hand pallet trucks remove single pallets from rear.

Each dispenser is fitted with castors; allowing units to be easily moved into position. This product creates a better workflow and creates less risk to operators; making the area safer and more efficient.
