A wine and beer distribution centre found that the vacuum lifter it was using could not lift all kinds of boxes in the centre.
They needed to adjust it when changing to different boxes and the lifter could not even lift some boxes. So they were being lifted manually.
The liquor distributor was after a lifting product that could haul liquor boxes from pallets to carts.
The lifter they were using could manage 28 different container types of beer, wine and liquor, including boxes, and plastic-wrapped cardboard trays.
They were using a vacuum lifter launched on a bridge crane, which was loud and unwieldy.
So they decided to switch to Gorbel Easy Arm from Safetech. The distributor combined it with a custom vacuum pad that firmly held all types of boxes.
They use the stack limit switch to interlock with the vacuum release switch, which stops accidental release of load when it is suspended.
They were pleased with the outcome at their retail location so they decided to add one to their distribution centre, where they could maintain the minimum cycle count of 200 cases an hour.
