Bucket wheel servicing is a common but tricky activity. Many mines use a forklift to tilt a frame that supports a bucket wheel.

The fork lift tilts the frame into a position aligned to the angle of the bucket wheel.

The fork would then hold it in place while service crew climb into the bucket to put pins in place and hold it in position.

It is a hazardous method that had to be stopped.

A three-tonne scissor lift was designed with a special oscillating platform operated hydraulically. The custom lifting platform can tilt in multiple directions and the operators can easily release the holding pins and lower the bucket wheel safely.

Heavy duty castors were also built in so the scissor lift could be wheeled into and out of position.

The scissor lift provides a durable solution for better productivity and safety.
