Rated at 15kN, the portable roof anchors are designed for single person use and are ideally suited for tradesmen working on residential roofs that do not have permanent fall arrest systems installed.
The temporary roof anchors can be fixed to the roof easily by simply removing four roof screws, placing the anchor and replacing the screws through the anchor into the original holes. Once the job is done, the anchor plate is removed and the screws placed back into their holes to leave the roof the same as before.
During roof work, the snap hook of the worker’s ropeline, which is already coupled to his harness, is attached to the energy absorber permanently connected to the portable roof anchor. This allows the user to move out from the anchorage point to the work area in a full 360 degrees around the anchor point.
An anchor strap used as a temporary anchor point on tile roofs is also provided by Safemaster. Also rated at 15kN, it is designed for single person use. To use the anchor strap, simply push back a tile and wrap the strap around the rafter or top chord of the truss and connect the snap hook of the ropeline onto the D-ring at the end of the strap.
Safemaster recommends courses in height safety for users of any fall arrest equipment or PPE to enable complete understanding of the equipment and its use.
