Annual safety inspections of Retirement Villages are required by law in NSW. Safe Environments can perform these safety inspections, in accordance with the NSW Retirement Villages Regulation 2009.

The safety inspections include:

  • General property safety
  • Provision of smoke alarms
  • Security screens and key operated locks
  • Emergency egress procedures
  • Safe and equitable access for people with mobility and vision impairment
  • Emergency assistance system for village residents (such as bracelets or distress buttons)
After the Safety Inspections are completed, the regulations require that a copy of the annual safety inspection report is placed on a village notice board for one month so it can be viewed by all residents.

Safe Environments provide independent Annual Safety Inspections for large and small retirement villages and homes to assist in complying with the NSW Retirement Villages Regulation 2009.
