World-leading semiconductors specialist, ST Microelectronics has been awarded the prestigious 2012 Corporate Award from the IEEE Standards Association (IEEE-SA) in recognition of its outstanding leadership and contributions to the development and advancement of standards in electrical and electronics engineering.
According to Steve Mills, President, IEEE Standards Association, IEEE standards are at work worldwide, advancing technology to the marketplace for the benefit of humanity, and it is industry partners such as ST Microelectronics that drive these standards to fruition.
With this award, the IEEE-SA recognises ST Microelectronics for its work in standards development as it applies to semiconductor solutions, and for its commitment to the value of standards in bringing about the world desired by humankind.
Joel Huloux, Director, Standardization & Industry Alliances Unit, Corporate Strategy Development, ST Microelectronics adds that ST has been a long-standing contributor and a driving force behind a wide spectrum of IEEE standards, from the wireless LAN specifications to home networking and power-line communications.
In addition to making technical contributions, ST holds membership on the IEEE-SA Corporate Advisory Group, and has employees who hold individual memberships on the IEEE-SA Standards Board and the IEEE-SA Strategic Planning & Portfolio Management Committee.
The prestigious award was presented at the 2012 IEEE-SA Awards ceremony to Oleg Logvinov, Member of the IEEE-SA Standards Board, the IEEE-SA Corporate Advisory Group, and Director of Market Development at ST’s Industrial & Power Conversion Division.
