SPMDM , a small Melbourne-based company, has released a range of low cost computer housings for industrial applications designed to bridge the gap between desktop computers and expensive industrial computers and housings.
The housings are robust and attractive, and have been designed to minimise the required installation space.
All housings come with 15" LCD monitors, 87 key keyboards and an easy-to-use 'optical' trackball. There is also a sealed keyboard/touchpad option available for exceptionally demanding environments.
Standard versions include arm mounting (pictured) and floor standing units. The floor standing model has room on board for a tower PC, giving a self contained industrial workstation, with a small footprint and a surprisingly low cost.
This model has two doors allowing easy access to disk drives and cabling, and a cooling fan is fitted as standard.
The units can be painted or powder-coated to customer requirements, and holes for pushbuttons, keyswitches, etc can be specified at the time of ordering, or easily added later.
Other units are available with wide bases for applications where bar code/label printers are required, and SPMDM will build units to customer requirements.
