One exhibitor happy with NMW is SOS Components , which on Day 1 sold a Z Corporation 3D colour printer, worth $60,000 off its stand.

SOS Director Jeff Condren said NMW was an ideal opportunity to promote an innovative, high-tech product such as the 3D printer, which produces full colour, precision 3D models, relief maps, prototypes – or anything which can have its attributes digitised in 3D.

“People cannot believe the array of models and prototypes we can produce with this technology,” he said. “So when they walk past the stand and see what it does – and at such economical cost – they can immediately see its benefits.

“In addition to making at least one sale, we also have some very strong leads to follow up after the show.”

SOS Components offers a range of high-tech products for the manufacturing sector. In addition to the 3D printer, it is also showing a 3D scanner which offers 20 micron accuracy in 5 axes, for applications such as design proofing, dental scanning, jewellery and education.
