AFTER releasing its first hydraulic cylinder range in late 2003, SMC Pneumatics Australia has extended the range in response to positive industry feedback.
The new models, designated CHD, offer many of the same features as the first release with the addition of a built-in magnet to facilitate the easy installation of an autoswitch. The CHD cylinders also offer a range of bore sizes, stroke lengths and operating pressures to build upon the first release.
Depending on the model selected, bore sizes range from 32mm up to 100mm with stroke lengths of between 25mm and 1000mm and nominal pressure of either 10MPa or 16MPa.
SMC's new hydraulic cylinders are able to operate in ambient and fluid temperatures ranging from -10°C to 60°C and offer users six different options for port and cushion valve positioning.
Piston speeds of 8-300mm/s are possible with minimum operating pressures of 0.25MPa or 0.15MPa depending on the position of the piston, and maximum allowable pressure of 12MPa or 20MPa depending on the model used.
SMC's hydraulic cylinders have been available overseas for some time and are now being introduced into Australia and are available on demand.
Tie-rod, compact and dual-rod cylinder designs are offered, together with a range of options and capabilities - and SMC's proven reliability - to Australian users.
Many existing cylinders in the SMC hydraulic range are fitted with auto switches as standard, enabling accurate and cost-effective sensing of stroke position.
Another feature further distinguishing the SMC range is the inclusion of cushioning as standard.
