SMC Pneumatics VC Series process valves are described as direct-operated 2-port solenoid valves individually suitable for water, steam, oil, heated water or air control applications. By dedicating a specific valve per fluid, SMC claims increased durability over the range with an operating lifespan of up to 20 million cycles.
The VC Series is additional to the SMC process valve range and replaces the all-purpose VX range. The Series comprises four individual units designed to provide the best-suited product to specific applications:
· VCW for water and air control applications including plumbing, sprinklers and air conditioning systems. The valves are designed to control water at pressures of up to 3MPa and at temperatures from 1 to 60°C.
· VCL for most industrial oiling applications such as compressor and turbine oil and low pressure hydraulic control at pressures up to 2MPa and at temperatures from -10 to 100°C.
· VCS for steam control applications including sterilisers and low-pressure environments at pressures up to 1MPa and at temperatures up to 183°C.
· VCB for heated water control applications such as in urns, washing machines and hot water systems at pressures up to 3MPa and at temperatures up to 99°C.
All models are compact and lightweight with similar size bodies and coils but differing internal materials to ensure compliance with specific applications.
The valve bodies are constructed of brass or stainless steel with provision for a mounting bracket at the base of the unit.
The IP65-compliant valves have low power consumption, high response speed and are designed for simple coil replacement through a removable clip situated at the top of the solenoid housing.
To facilitate direct electrical actuation, four input wiring options are offered: grommet, DIN connector, conduit and conduit terminal. SMC Pneumatics 02 9354 8222.
