THE Martin Pocket Pro is another of SKF's recent additions to its family of handheld mobile computers for facilitating machine and process availability.
This start-of-the-art data collector and handheld computer has the power to collect, store, analyse and report on important machine vibration, inspection and process data.
The unit also comes standard with Microsoft Pocket Word, Pocket Excel and Internet Explorer.
Because it uses an "open" Pocket PC platform, third party or other "user-developed" applications may also be loaded directly onto the hand-held to accommodate scheduling, tracking, documentation, reference. storage, communication or reporting requirements.
This makes the Marlin Pocket Pro a cross-functional tool to assist operations, maintenance, engineering, and plant management as they work together to improve plantwide reliability.
The Marlin Pocket Pro enables in-the-field trending, comparison of baseline with previous readings, alarm notification and more.
User notes allow operators to record immediate impressions of troublesome machine conditions or measurements, which may be uploaded, to a host PC network for team review.
The unit may also be customised to handle statistical process control, scheduling, environmental, and other regulatory or internal plant requirements.
The Marlin Pocket Pro may be lightweight and small but it is hardy and operates in all but the most hostile industrial environments, with a 4-foot drop test rating.
