Siemens PLM Software has selected Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. as the winner of the 2011 Asia Pacific Innovation Award. The Award is presented to Siemens PLM Software customers in Asia that have achieved exceptional business success through the use of PLM technology.
Siemens PLM Software also announced Midea Air-conditioning & Refrigeration Group as the first runner-up and Shenyang Liming Aero-Engine (Group) Co. Ltd. as the second runner-up for their excellent submissions.
Siemens PLM Software is a business unit of the Siemens Industry Automation Division and a leading global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services.
The award was presented to Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. at Siemens PLM Software’s annual Asia Pacific Executive Client Event (APECE), which brings together industry leaders to share PLM best practices and discuss ways for companies to leverage PLM to get ahead in the current global economy.
The entries were evaluated by a panel of judges according to the unique business challenges each company faced, the steps and solutions that each company took to overcome the challenges, the innovation made possible by the PLM implementation, the benefits the PLM implementation enabled each company to gain, as well as the next steps in leveraging PLM solutions.
Congratulating Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. on its well deserved win, Rajiv Ghatikar, Vice President, Asia Pacific, Siemens PLM Software commented that the award showcases how companies are incorporating PLM into their business structures and leveraging the technology to get ahead of the competition.
According to Dr. Christopher Holmes, Director for IDC Manufacturing Insights – International, the submissions for the Award were of high quality and clearly illustrated how Asia Pacific companies were achieving business success with PLM.
The winner and runners-up will be invited to attend the 2012 Americas PLM Connection event. The winner will also be invited to attend Siemens PLM Software’s 2012 Analyst Event to present their PLM business case study.
