Global provider of product lifecycle management software and services, Siemens PLM Software , recently announced that Chrysler Group LLC has selected their technology for product design and development.
Producers of Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Truck and Mopar vehicles and products, Chrysler Group LLC began using Siemens PLM Software's digital lifecycle management solution,Teamcenter software, as its corporate-wide PDM system in 2008. Teamcenter software provides a single source of product knowledge across a company, available at any time in any location during the product development process.
Chrysler Group has now also added Siemens PLM Software's comprehensive digital product development solution, NX software, to provide efficiency gains in engineering and design and to help create a common product development platform.
“Integration of this tool will help to enhance our ability to collectively engineer new products with improved quality and faster time to market,” says Scott Kunselman, Senior Vice President of Engineering at Chrysler Group LLC.
“Chrysler’s decision to replace existing solutions with NX and Teamcenter as its corporate-wide standard is a testament to our commitment to provide a robust, open product lifecycle management platform for the automotive industry,” says Tony Affuso, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer at Siemens PLM Software.
“Siemens PLM Software is honored to partner with Chrysler to deliver a solution that enhances innovation and manages complexity, both of which are requirements for today’s market,” adds Affuso.
Siemens PLM Software’s industry-leading product lifecycle management technology is used by automakers and suppliers to collaborate, plan, design and validate the development and manufacturing engineering of vehicles.
These digital lifecycle management and digital product development tools satisfy the critical needs of leading automakers for managing collaboration across complex engineering functions and throughout the extended supply chain.
By breaking down barriers between engineering functions, providing real-time access to information, and performing analysis and simulation, Siemens PLM Software has delivered double-digit efficiency improvements.
