SICK has released the WL11 UC photoelectric switch, suitable for both direct and alternating voltage supplies. It has a range of 7m, high detection reliability even with highly reflective surfaces and an electrically safe isolated switching output.
Applications include the packaging industry and storage and conveyor technology. It complies with the EN 61000-6-3 CE standard for interfering radiation allowing it to be used in residential and commercial areas as a sensor for controlling doors and gates.
The W11 UC can be supplied with 24V-240V dc as well as with 24V-240V ac. The switch has a red-light transmitter LED, allowing it to be precisely aligned on objects at distances of up to 7m.
It has an ABS plastic housing, scratchproof PMMA optics and an IP 65 enclosure rating. The maximum switching frequency is 20Hz, allowing rapidly moving objects to be reliably detected.
