SMALL design, high-quality reading properties, user-friendliness, and application-specific device versions characterise the new SICK CLV 42x barcode scanner series.

As line or grid scanners (with an optional angle attachment if required) they cover all common reading situations.

High scanning frequencies of up to 1,200Hz allow reliable identification of rapidly moving objects. A wide variety of output and networking possibilities, including a CANopen data interface, offer individual control connection opportunities.

With the Auto-Setup adjustment aid, Automatic Triggering, and CLV Setup parameterisation software, the CLV 42x series offers user comfort.

The product family consists of the CLV 420 for standard applications, the CLV 421 for long-range reading situations up to 380mm, and the CLV 422 as a high-density version for particularly compact barcodes.

There's lots of technology and user comfort in the housings that are only about 60mm x 35mm x 59mm (LxWxD). Thus the device not only identifies a large number of common industrial barcodes, but also offers numerous diagnostic opportunities, e.g. for monitoring the print quality of upstream labelling stations.

Comfortable adjustment aids such as the CLV Setup parameterisation software or direct Auto-Setup, with which standardised tasks can be activated by reading a setup barcode, rapidly get CLV 42x scanners ready for operation.

The devices offer all read cycling possibilities - from free-running operation, to triggering via the serial interface or the sensor switching input, and reflector polling, with which the scanner autonomously detects information on the object to be identified.

RS232 and RS422/485 interfaces, as well as protocols complying with the SICK Standard, 3964 R or CANopen, are available for providing reading information.
