OD Value series of intuitive displacement sensors are available from Sick . With four different measurement ranges of 26-34 mm to 60-180 mm and resolutions between 2 µm and 30 µm, the OD Value is suitable for numerous tasks.
Incorporating the CMOS technology, these intuitive sensors are capable of precisely measuring the position of light, dark and highly reflective objects. These accurate distance sensors offer a high level of dependability, simple operation and interface flexibility at a reasonable price.
The displacement detectors of the OD series from Sick offer a high level of accuracy and speed when measuring objects in the µ-range. They are suitable for, among other areas, the electronics, automotive and packaging industries, as well as robotics.
They monitor the presence and position of objects; measure profiles, diameters and thicknesses; detect unevenness and the deviations or indentations; and take on other quality inspection functions where µ-accurate detection capability matters, e.g. for inline quality inspection, process regulation or product classification.
Four different interfaces are available for integrating OD Value distance sensors, which require no supplementary evaluation unit. In addition to the RS-422 variant with a switching output, there is a pure switching variant with two switching outputs, as well as variants with an analogue current or voltage output (4 - 20 mA or 0 - 10 V) and two switching outputs. The series is highly flexible regarding integration in an automation system.
The devices of the OD Value series are easy to operate. The teach-in feature allows the sensors to be taught an object’s pattern. Measurement commences at the press of a button and a measurement frequency of up to 2 kHz is supported. Its enclosure rating of IP67 allows the OD Value to master harsh operating conditions. This feature makes it suitable for many new applications, including in the packaging, paper and timber industries.
