Precision, immunity to ambient light and maintenance-free operation are a few of the advantages of the new measuring and switching distance sensors of the DT50 series from Sick . The devices have been designed for medium ranges of up to 10m. With properties such as 20ms response time and 1mm resolution and 10mm accuracy, the DT50 distance sensor offers an innovative sensor technology with a sound price/performance ratio. The DT50 distance sensor is suited for varied positioning tasks, presence inspections and anti-collision solutions.

The DT50 distance sensor has a rugged device design with IP65 zinc die-cast housing, an exchangeable protective front screen for welding applications, and a temperature range of from -30°C to + 65°C. This makes the DT50 distance sensor suitable for deep-freeze stores, steelworks and hot rolling mills.

The DT50 distance sensor presents advantages for integrators and users. This latest addition to Sick's distance portfolio has been designed for ease-of-use and maintenance free operations. The main advantage for integrators is its rapid adjustability. Through an intuitive display menu, as well as its uncomplicated and precise alignment, plant operators will find the the DT50 distance sensor free of maintenance and immune to ambient light up to 40 Klux due to the new double frequency coding.

The DT50 distance sensor is capable of solving numerous tasks efficiently. These include positioning functions, as well as presence and occupancy inspections in automatic storage systems, or monitoring distance on Telpher conveyors and collision prevention for gantry cranes and automated guided vehicles. The DT50 distance sensor also solves many applications in production and process technology, e.g. regulating slack during tyre production, positioning welding robots or packaging machines and roller printing plants.
