SICK’s new W 9L family of laser photoelectric switches feature mini-housings with mini-light spots on the object, long ranges, and high switching frequencies.
No supplementary protective or safety measures are necessary due to their laser Protection Class 2. They also have CE, UL and CDRH approvals.
The W 9L family includes the precisely adjustable WT 9L photoelectric proximity switch with background suppression and the WL 9L photoelectric reflex switch with teach-in and optional polarisation filter. Finally there is the WS/WE 9L through-beam photoelectric switch, that can also be set up using the teach-in button on the device itself.
All sensors share an enclosure rating of IP 67, the robust ABS housing and the pulsed laser transmitter. This generates a light spot less than 0.5 mm in size, whereby even the smallest objects can be reliably detected - and this at a switching frequency of 1kHz.
The temperature-compensated laser protection electronics ensure that Protection Class 2 is reliably maintained under all operating conditions.
The device detects objects over substantial distances, the reading distance of the WT 9L is 150mm, the WL 9L offers a range of 12m, and the WS/WE 9L through-beam system is suitable for up to 50m. Neither external light sources nor strong interfering radiation affect reliable device function. Simple teach-in at the touch of a button, operating and reception indicators on the device, and a wide range of accessories ensure a high level of user-friendliness during mounting and commissioning.
