Chemical and detergent-resistant reflectors for use in production and filling plants for food and beverages are now available from Sick . These reflectors are for photoelectric switches with enclosure ratings up to IP69k.
Their material resistance has been comprehensively tested by the TÜV Rhineland, confirmed in Test Certificate No. 620/434628 as well as inspected and confirmed in laboratory tests by detergent producer Ecolab.
Sick has developed the chemical-resistant reflector types PL10F CHEM, PL20 CHEM and P250 CHEM to suit harsh operating conditions in the food and beverages industry. Chemicals such as H2O2, nor acids, alkalis, alcohols, chlorinated hydrocarbons and many other materials cannot damage them.
Tests with ECOLAB detergents, which also caused no impairment or property changes, came to the same result. The reflectors are highly resistant as well as highly applicable because they can withstand temperatures of up to 100°C.
