SELECTABLE beam distances of 10, 20, 30 or 50mm, monitored heights of between 100mm and 3,140mm, two ranges of 0-5m or 0-8.5m, and two different mounting solutions, make SICK’s Measuring Light Grid (MLG) a versatile automation solution that can be configured in modular form.
All the electronics are accommodated in the compact device housing. Integrated standard measurement functions and user-friendly Windows-based software, allow rapid, simple and practical parameter-setting and commissioning of the MLG.
The most interesting application opportunities include object height detection, e.g. on a conveyor system or at a storage space; regulation of the sagging of sheets; division into zones and their monitoring, e.g. for monitoring pick-to-light commissioning processes; the classification of objects on the basis of their size; and checking edges and profiles.
If the basic general conditions of an application have already been defined, the MLG can be pre-parameterised by SICK and is thus ready for immediate use.
If such general conditions, e.g. the size of the objects to be detected, are not known or are variable, the user-friendly MLG setup software offers numerous parameter-setting opportunities and an Application Assistant with Help for the most up-to-date applications.
Inputs and outputs, and the data interface, offer a variety of interface combinations. Thus, for example, there are up to 6 switching outputs and 2 inputs available. Measurement value data output takes place via an RS485 interface.
