The IQ40 inductive sensor from Sick allows intelligent automation in conveyor systems and general machine construction.
The compact rectangular sensor supports enhanced switching distances and comprises active sensor area alignable in five directions, and corner LEDs easily visible in any mounting position.
The IQ40 has a compact and rugged design with an enclosure rating of IP67, as well as an enhanced detection range of 20 mm (flush-mounted) and 40 mm (with non-flush mounting). This extra detection range helps users set up a more reliable application.
The simple sensor mounting offered by its integrated fixing clamps makes it suitable for use by machine constructors, particularly as the active area can be rotated in five directions – providing a high level of freedom for sensor installation.
During operation, users profit from the increased availability of the IQ40 due to its functional reserves, irrespective of operating conditions. The sensor’s corner LED also permits simple monitoring of the IQ40’s switching and operating mode from any direction.
In addition to the IQ40 in its short housing, Sick have developed new inductive proximity sensors for the food and beverages industries, offering stainless steel housings with IP69K protection and higher temperature ranges.
