SICK has released the IT 4600 handheld scanner. The image capture module can capture 1-D and 2-D codes, clear text and pictures in any alignment.
It is suitable for all tasks in which a high throughput of goods, or where documents require identification.
The integrated Adaptus imaging technology allows codings to be read omnidirectionally and can capture images. Image capture is up to seven times quicker than with a standard laser scanner. The green scanning beam illumination simplifies the detection of any bar codes. Two device versions are available. The IT 4600 PDF reads Linar bar codes and PDF471 codes while the IT 4600 2D also reads 2-D codes such as Data Matrix or post codes.
A variety of interfaces and the IQ Editing Pro editing software are supplied, allow rapid and simple integration of the device in existing structures. The IT 4600 survives 50 1.8m drops onto concrete.
