The device – the technological trendsetter for distance measurement, with its standard photoelectric switch housing and an innovative time-of-flight process – now has a scanning range of 3 m, with highly accurate background suppression and two switching outputs.
The DS30 is therefore the ideal solution for checking the occupancy of double-depth storage spaces and bays in high-bay warehouses.
A time-of-flight measurement system with a new type of electronic evaluation process is used in the DS30 for accurate distance measurement.
The DS30 thus achieves high levels of resolution and reproducibility even with low object reflectivity. Even extremely dirty pallet feet, for example, are reliably detected when checking storage bay occupancy in handling and warehousing systems.
The background suppression is also precise and reliable: whether highly reflective metal beams in the shelving, a reflective steel box in the storage bay, passing storage and retrieval devices with reflectors, or personnel with reflective warning vests – there is no spurious switching with the DS30.
The variant with three binary-coded switching outputs is a further highlight. This allows the sensor to be used in applications requiring more than two switching outputs.
