SI Instruments offers the complete range of Mecmesin closure torque testers in Australia and New Zealand.

A measure of the torque force required to apply or remove a cap or lid on a container, closure torque testing frequently involves a two-stage measurement. While slip torque and bridge torque are measured for tamper-evident caps, a concurrent measure of downward load applied must also be made if the closure is child-resistant. Container closures must therefore perform correctly for quality-critical as well as safety-critical reasons.

Closure torque testing ensures the proper functioning of closures, and the integrity and safety of products; reduces material costs and helps achieve lean manufacturing goals; and also assures compliance with industry standards.

Mecmesin’s top-of-the-range Vortex-i computer controlled torque testing system gives optimum testing performance and evaluation options, ensuring users get the most from their test measurements.

Mecmesin Vortex-i closure torque testers are controlled via advanced software; create sophisticated test programs; perform in-depth evaluation of results; are ideal for R&D or quality control applications; and are available in a range of capacities up to 10 Nm.

Vortex-xt touchscreen controlled torque testing systems enable fast and efficient testing on the production floor. Key features include easy-to-use touch screen interface with quick test selection; capability to program, store and evaluate tests on one system; simple one-button test launch; standalone system - no PC required; and capacities up to 10 Nm.

The entry-level Vortex-d motorised test stands are a cost-effective solution for straightforward torque tests. The simple-to-operate system offers digital display of speed and angle; combines with Mecmesin's digital torque display, AFTI; integrates with data acquisition software for additional test evaluation options; features a rugged design suitable for the factory floor; and is available in capacities up to 10 Nm.

Mecmesin also offers a range of digital torque testers for testing small rotary components and manual closure torque testing.
Tornado digital torque testers feature tamper-evident closure testing, on-board memory of up to 500 readings; pass/fail alert; versatile mounting table; and capacities up to 10 Nm.

The Orbis digital torque tester features a compact, portable and robust design, offers clockwise and counter-clockwise digital torque capture; is simple to operate; comes with a versatile mounting table; and is available in capacities up to 6 Nm.
