SEW Eurodrive have extended their X-series of industrial gear-units, providing gear-unit choices and flexibility. Comprising 15 models, each with a different torque-rating, the SEW Eurodrive X-series features torque-graduation and allows users to closely match an X-series gear-unit to their application.
The X-series MC compact industrial gear-units feature helical and helical-bevel gear technologies that deliver torques from 58,000 to 475,000Nm.
The entire X-series MC compact industrial gear-units are available in a range of mounting arrangements, configuration options and user-specific requirements, making them suitable for the manufacturing industry. Specific industrial applications include use in conveyor systems, agitators and mixers, shredders and crushers, and in traction and hoist drive systems.
According to SEW Eurodrive, the X-series MC compact industrial gear-units’ torque-rating options simplify the task of closely matching an industrial gear-unit to the drive application. The X-series MC compact industrial gear-units have an oversized unit to accommodate users’ drive applications. The X-series MC compact industrial gear-units provide more models with better torque-graduation, allowing users to select a model more closely matched to their needs. Users are therefore able to make savings in space, capital expenditure, operating costs, and in the structural supports that would otherwise be required for heavier units.
The X-series MC compact industrial gear-units have been designed with versatile options, including a revolutionary housing that allows the gear-units to be inverted. SEW Eurodrive observe that the X-series MC compact industrial gear-units can be ‘flipped over’ to produce a mirror-image gearbox. Facilities can utilise a single spare to replace both left and right-hand drive gear-units, thus reducing the number of complete gear-unit spares needed to be kept on site. The larger units in the range are also designed with a horizontal-split gear-unit housing. Irrespective of which way up the unit is orientated, the upper housing can be simply lifted off to allow for easy servicing.
The X-series MC compact industrial gear-unit range features a modular design and is assembled from a range of standard components. SEW Eurodrive note that the modular component commonality concept results in fewer spares required to be held by a user to cover the entire range of gearboxes they have on site. It also means that when parts need to be ordered, they will be more readily available, with a quicker turn-around time.
