The local assembly means the company can provide much faster turnaround on customised servo packages.
SEW-Eurodrive servo systems product manager Spiro Limberakis said the new servo facility meant the company could now turnaround servo systems inside of a week.
“That’s the complete servo system--servo drive, gearbox, servo controller and cables, on the customer’s site and ready to install,” Limberakis said.
The CM servo family is a compact and lightweight servo drive, based on the advanced rare earth magnetic materials and a cooling fin-free aluminium housing.
Precision engineering ensures that the CM servo provides premium torque-to-weight ratios and positioning accuracy.
Offering a torque ratings range of 5 to 68 Nm (which may be extended to 95 Nm by application of an optional forced cooling fan) the CM series is presented in three distinct frame sizes. These three frame sizes will be available in Australia virtually off-the-shelf in speed ratings of 3000 and 4500 rpm.
The CM servo series is provided with pre-terminated plug connector-type cables in a range of cable lengths, both for power and brake supply, and servo connections. Fitted with robust ‘SM’ plug connectors, the pre-terminated cables ensure speedy on-site connection installation. and servicing.
The servo series is provided with a robust resolver-type position encoder as standard, or may be fitted with a precision ‘Hiperface’ absolute encoder (either single or multi-turn) as an option.
A selection of high-performance electro-mechanical brakes are available, as are optional forced cooling fans, which increase the servo motor’s static torque to 145 per cent of the standard value.
