Drive solutions specialist, SEW-EURODRIVE has released an updated 2012 calendar for its nationwide motor and drive technology training program, DriveAcademy.
Launched in 2010, the DriveAcademy is based on the same in-depth technical training syllabus used to educate SEW-EURODRIVE’s engineers, providing end-users and system integrators with a comprehensive set of skills required to get the most out of motor and drive technologies.
DriveAcademy’s training courses cover a wide range of topics, including project planning, drive application, selection and usage, decentralised systems, maintenance and condition monitoring.
Product specific classes are also offered, providing insight into the implementation and operation of some of SEW-EURODRIVE’s most popular technologies such as the MOVIDRIVE ‘B’ application inverter, MOVI-PLC/motion controller and the MOVITRAC frequency inverter families.
DriveAcademy’s training courses are suitable for a diverse range of end users including drive engineers, service application engineers, operations managers and maintenance technicians.
SEW-EURODRIVE training manager, Michael Stranieri explains that the DriveAcademy training courses undertaken in the last two years have provided attendees with a useful mix of theoretical and practical tuition.
Participants took away valuable information on a wide range of subjects ranging from gearbox maintenance and repair to training on their electronics products.
The 2012 calendar offers substantial improvements over previous years with courses to be run more frequently across each state, making it easier for everyone to attend. A new training course on MOVIDRIVE LTE B frequency inverter is being introduced this year to help participants take advantage of the strengths of the product, whilst also gaining a greater understanding of the process.
Each DriveAcademy training course is run by highly technical site-experienced staff, and conducted at SEW-EURODRIVE’s Service Competence Centres located in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.
The training courses combine theory and hands-on practical segments to add to the learning experience while standard courses are offered in small class sizes to ensure participants receive a high level of personal attention.
A global designer, developer and manufacturer of mechanical power transmission systems and motor control electronics, the SEW-EURODRIVE group is headquartered in Bruchsal, Germany and offers a broad spectrum of integrated solutions including geared motors, gear units, high torque industrial gear units, high-efficiency motors, electronic frequency inverters, servo drive systems and decentralised drive systems.
