SEW-EURODRIVE has announced the release of a new series of MOVIDRIVE application inverter.
The new MOVIDRIVE “B” offers Australian manufacturers and OEMs an application inverter of optimal versatility, processing power and cost-efficiency.
Available in seven sizes, the MOVIDRIVE “B” inverter provides power capacities ranging from 0.55kW through to 132kW, for standard variable speed drives, positioning and synchronous applications.
MOVIDRIVE “B” is a compact application inverter. The new size “0” MOVIDRIVE “B” (0.55 to 1.5kW) measures 45mm in width. The MOVIDRIVE “B” series, when installed in multiples, requires zero clearance space on either side of the drive, ensuring compact “bookshelf” bundles and minimised cabinet space usage.
The new inverter incorporates a multi-mode controller card that supports a broad spectrum of industrial applications. These range from the basic control of an asynchronous motor in V/F operating mode, through to precision dynamic control of permanent magnet servo motors in CFC flux vector operating mode.
MOVIDRIVE “B” also supports RS485 and CANopen serial communications as standard, plus its own system bus, which permits peer-to-peer connection of up to 31 MOVIDRIVEs.
Optional communications cards provide connectivity to most common industrial fieldbus standards, including Profibus DPV1, Interbus, Interbus LWL and DeviceNet.
As with version “A”, the new MOVIDRIVE is supported by a comprehensive library of pre-configured software modules for quick configuration of table incremental and absolute positioning tasks, winding, synchronous operation, electronic camming, and more.
The MOVIDRIVE “B” has an integrated “safety stop” feature, allowing a reduction of the interpose contactors required to achieve safe protection against restart in AS4024 (Safety of Machinery. Safety related parts of control system part 1) Category three applications.
Upgrade and maintenance of the MOVIDRIVE “B” has also been made dramatically easier, with a fully modular “plug out/plug in” memory card. In the event of a drive upgrade or changeout, the configured memory module may be changed across to the new drive system, no further engineering input is required.
User friendliness is further enhanced by the inverter’s new DBG60B fully numeric keypad with backlit matrix display. The DBG60B keypad supports nine different languages. This, in conjunction with MOVIDRIVE’s CE, UL, CSA and C-Tick conformity ensures it is a “global” application inverter.
The MOVIDRIVE “B” improves on its predecessor’s “near-PLC” performance. It offers four times the code capacity of its predecessor and up to ten times the code processing speed. It has an additional onboard digital I/O as standard, plus a choice of programming methods including assembler code, C-complier or pre-developed application modules.
The result is enhanced drive control and optimal drive configuration flexibility.
