The control panel terminates the system wiring and a backup battery is placed which helps in connecting the telephone lines if it is a monitored system. The keypad is place where the system is armed and disarmed. Sirens are placed internally and externally. The inside motion detectors helps in detecting any change taking place in the surrounding environment.
Door and Window contacts are placed so that the alarm goes on when the doors and windows are opened. If the system is monitored and the alarm is set off, the control panel sends a message to a central monitoring station, which is manned 24 hours a day.
