The flexible design of UNI High Performance Modular Belting allows quiet running with no lubrication required. This modular belting is USDA and FDA approved and can operate within a temperature range of -73ºC to +150ºC with no threat of metal contamination.
UNI High Performance Modular Belting is available in the four grades; acetal, polyethylene, polypropylene, and UHMW/Nylon 6.
Acetal UNI modular belting is hard, strong and tough and has a very low co-efficient of friction against glass, metal and plastics. This material also has optimal chemical resistance, is heavier than other materials and, with a temperature range from -40ºC - +93ºC, performs well in humid conditions.
Polyethylene is a highly flexible material that has high impact and good release qualities. UNI modular belting made from this material is ideal for sticky applications and those that require an operating temperature of -73ºC +16ºC.
UNI High Performance Modular Belting made from polypropylene is probably the most versatile for a range of applications. It has good chemical resistance, is lightweight, and dimensionally stable. It has an operating temperature range of 10ºC - 100ºC.
UHMW/Nylon 6 are ideal materials for sprockets as they are abrasion resistant, have a good coefficient of friction and are highly durable and resistant to chemicals. They also have a high impact resistance and will outlast other plastic sprockets, and in many cases will outlast steel sprockets. UHMW has an operating temperature range of -80ºC - +60ºC and Nylon 6 has an operating temperature range of -40ºC - +120ºC.
