Some problems can occur with conveyors that move crates/ totes to and from different processing operations within the poultry industry.
These can be solved by using Uni Chains range of plastic chains.
Dual lane conveyors made with ‘knuckle’ chains allow the centre to be open for better cleanability and to allow abrasive particles to fall through.
Product supports (cleats, flights, pushers etc.) break due to impact of the crates dropping on them.
Uni 1702M is available with ‘pegs’ rather than product supports to resist impact. These pegs also are small enough to fit in the grid pattern of most crates so even if the crate is dropped directly on the ‘peg’ it will still pull it up the incline.
Full width modular belts can break due to impact of the corner of a crate dropping on it.
Chains such as Uni 1702 M and Uni 3200 TAB, available from Rydell Industrial (Belting) Co are thicker than modular plastic belts to resist breakage due to impact much better. Ammeraal Beltech Modular supplies these chains in a special impact resistant POM material called POM-DI.
