Conveyor belts specialist Rydell Industrial (Belting) Co offers a range of plastic modular belts from Uni Chains, specially developed to work with bread cooling conveyors or bread coolers.

Often functioning as incline conveyors, bread cooling conveyors need to have open area and low surface contact to allow maximum airflow for cooling.

Conventional cooling conveyors can create a number of issues during the bread cooling process. Uni Chains’ plastic modular belts are designed to resolve each problem efficiently.

Problem:
Debris from the steel wire mesh flat belt can flake off and contaminate the tortillas on the cooling conveyor, causing product loss and downtime to clean and replace the belts.

Uni Chains Solution:
Uni plastic modular belts feature plastic pins, eliminating the problem of debris contamination.

Problem:
Cooling requires a great deal of airflow to make the cooling process efficient.

Uni Chains Solution:
Traditional plastic modular belts have flat surfaces that restrict airflow. The Uni SNB M2 34% and the Uni Owl 66% open belts feature a patented low contact radius top surface that allows maximum airflow to pass under the bread.

Problem:
The incline conveyor can be close to the oven, requiring a high temperature belt.

Uni Chains Solution:
The belts can typically be supplied in two materials, PP and PA6.6 for heat resistance. PP material is common for many applications while the PA6.6 nylon material is suitable if more heat and flame resistance is required as it reduces the risk of burning and melting the plastic belt.
