Rydell Industrial (Belting) Co  offers conveyor belts from Uni Chains designed for use in Single Filer and Combiner applications where the product is moving from a mass handling conveyor into a single line.  

Single Filer and Combiner applications are typically found in filling and labelling processes where the product is either moving from mass handling to a single line, or moving from a single line to mass handling. Both situations involve a change in speed when the product must slide onto the belt or chain.  

Uni Chains’ conveyor belts have been designed to resolve issues associated with conventional belts.  

Traditional plastic or stainless steel slat top chains leave a gap in between the links, increasing the risk of bottles tipping over. The new PET bottles especially do not work well on these chains.  

Plastic modular belts from Uni Chains are more suitable for the application because the hinges are connected all the way across without any gaps. Belt models such as the Uni M-QNB and Uni SSB are recommended for these applications in LF or SLF material.  

The Uni SSB modular belts are preferred as they have a similar moulded width as traditional slat top chains. Both plastic modular belts are however suitable since they do not have gaps and prevent tipping over.  

Since the application involves change in speed, product friction must be kept low. Lubrication is often used to achieve the purpose but can be expensive in the long-term and hence needs to be reduced.  

Uni Chains recommends closed top belts such as the Uni M-QNB and Uni SSB since they keep the lubrication up to the belt surface where it is needed. The SLF material in Uni M-QNB belts will decrease the lubrication required due to its reduced coefficient of friction.
