The Rotork Australia SVM (smart valve monitor) range is a partial stroke valve testing system for pneumatically actuated or hydraulic on/off valves testing in real time.
The SVM does not infer valve position via direct drive from the actuator. Interference is eliminated from normal valve operation. Quick exhaust valve diagnostics are an integral facet, and the SVM system is compatible with quarter-turn and linear valves in any fluid power actuator control system.
The units are typically used in ESD, HIPPS, process shutdown valves, blow-down, and subsea applications. Over-stroking due to instrument pressure fluctuation is avoided through the use of intelligent pressure compensation.
The unit allows testing of all final elements as required by IRC 61508. Designed to assist with SIL compliance, the SVM can extend shutdown intervals. Transparent to normal operation of valves, the SVM achieves partial stroke speeds of tc < 1 second, negating risks of limit switch controlled causing valve overshoots resulting from high inertia.
Solenoid operated valve (SOV) performance analysis and speed of valve operation is possible.
