Rotacaster Wheels
The rotacaster is the only multi-directional wheel designed for floor use as a true alternative to swivel casters. Rotacaster’s fixed orientation and static position in relationship to a load platform provides the following advantages:
- Improved load stability and balance resulting in improved safety.
- Superior tracking capabilities and directional control (even across inclines).
- Leveraging off rear wheels to easily mount kerbs and single steps.
- Precise positioning due to no rotation about an offset.
Rotacasters are made using a moulded monolithic frame and over-moulded rollers meaning there are no pins, inserts or seams to maintain. As a fixed wheel, there are numerous alternatives to mounting, and since each wheel acts independently to improve control, multiple wheels and layouts may be customized to provide manoeuvrability and load requirements.
Dollies
The use of rotacaster’s fixed multi-directional wheels create a static relationship between the centre of load, its orientation, and the wheelbase. This reduces both the effort and risks associated with moving loads through the following unique advantages:
- Load Stability – Requires less effort to balance a load during turning and rotation, reducing the risk of overturning a load or strain injuries.
- Tracking/Directional Control – Unlike swivel casters, rotacaster wheels track in the direction the load is steered, reducing the effort and twisting action that causes strain injuries. This also reduces the tendency for ‘crabbing’ which typically results in the dangerous practice of pulling rather than pushing the load.
- Incline Performance – The above characteristics combine to provide greater control and safety when traversing inclines.
The welded aluminium frame with fixed recessed/housed multi-directional wheels means no swivel mechanisms or bolts (other than axles) to maintain, ensuring consistent trouble free performance for the life of the product.
Multi-Skates
Offering the same advantages as rotacaster dollies, multi-skates provide a flexible undercarriage or skate solution for that heavier load or custom application.
- Combine to Conquer – Combine and/or space multi-mounts to create a load platform to suit almost any load capacity (2 or 3 wheels per mount may be fitted for heavier loads).
- Adaptable for custom Applications - Simply use connection plates to design custom carriages, i.e. drums, steel beams, or pipe dollies.
- Inverted (Upside Down) Applications – also ideal for inverted applications, i.e. pipe rollers, feed rails or turn tables.
- Precise Positioning – Rotacaster multi-directional wheels ensure precision placement without the hassle of a swivel offset.
Custom mounts may be fabricated to allow mounting of multiple wheels transposed 90° to enhance direct lateral movement under heavy loads.
