The Rotatruck self supporting hand truck by Rotacaster Wheel Limited has been nominated for the 2009 NSW Work Cover Safe Work Award. The award recognises companies leading the way in safety innovation while promoting higher standards of occupational health and safety in the workplace.
To enter the award, a company must exhibit how they have implemented a new system or product that has significantly reduced an identified occupational health and safety risk. Award finalists are then selected through a process of site visits and evaluations carried out by Occupational Health and Safety Officials.
The Rotatruck self supporting hand truck is specifically designed to reduce user effort and the risk of strain injuries commonly associated with performing manual handling tasks. The hand truck fully supports the load removing the need for operators to carry or balance any weight.
The Rotatruck self supporting hand truck is mounted with multidirectional Rotacaster wheels which provide 360° manoeuvrability with the stability of a fixed mounting. The wheels are robust and durable and require virtually no maintenance.
The ergonomic design of the Rotatruck self supporting hand truck:
- Removes the need to reverse over kerbs and obstructions allowing users to lever loads rather than lift them;
- Keeps hands free for handling doors and performing associated tasks;
- Reduces the pull back effort required to change from the loading to the transporting position;
- Allows users to move directly sideways or rotate on the spot in confined spaces such as cool rooms and lifts.
The Rotatruck self supporting hand truck will be available for demonstration at booth N31 at the Sydney Safety and Materials Handling Show October 27th – 29th, 2009.
