Dave Camper, the Production Manager at Brad Jones Racing recently designed and manufactured a new fuel transfer vehicle for the team. According to Camper, the unit carries 100 litres of high octane fuel and putting traditional swivel caster wheels, on the bottom to move it around, would have made it heavy and unsafe.
He added that Peter McKinnon, Managing Director, Rotacaster Wheel Limited, showed them how Rotacaster wheels could sit inside the unit, lowering the centre of gravity and making it safe, even with the presence of 100 litres of fuel inside the unit.
Rotacaster wheels can give the fuel transfer vehicles directional stability and control even when the wheels come into contact with oils and fuels.
