TESA, represented in Australia by Rosebank Engineering , has released the Micro-Hite 3D measuring system. It fills the gap between the conventional precision measuring hand tool and the coordinate measuring machine.
It has a measurement repeatability of three microns over a measuring volume of 400mm x 450mm x 500mm. It has a control panel that comes equipped with interactive Tesa Reflex application software. The software provides the functional measurement of a calliper, height gauge and dial indicator as well as CMM capabilities.
The device has features that are suited to both workshop and measurement laboratory applications. It is made from materials that have a similar coefficient of expansion, so it can be used in workshops that are not temperature-controlled.
It can be supplied with a choice of two electronic probes, Tesastar with adjustable trigger force or Tesastar-i. Tesastar-i uses a touch trigger probe and has indexing capability over 168 positions by increments of 15º. It has a single-handed release operation.
