Ronson Gears have purchased three new pieces of cutting edge machinery. Ronson Gears purchased the Doosan Turning Centre VT 900 to increase their turning capacity from 450mm diameter to 900mm and improve their turning times.
With a hob grinding capacity for hobs of 254mm (10”) in diameter and 305mm (12”) in length, the Koepfer KFS250S CNC Hob Sharpener will be available in February 2009. Accurately sharpened hobs mean accurate output with extended hob life and can bring accuracy and speed to the processes. The machine will also sharpen bevel gear cutting tools, shaper cutters and rack cutters. Ronson Gears will continue to offer hob sharpening as a service into 2009 and beyond.
Fellows CNC vertical gear shaping machine from Ronson Gears will also arrive in early 2009. This fully retrofitted shaping machine will be capable of gear cutting internal gears up to 200mm face width and 650mm inside diameter.
The Fellows CNC vertical gear shaping machine possesses a hydrostroke, hydromechanical stroking system, a CNC system designed for gear processing, and adaptive controls, which continuously optimise key machine functions for peak cutting efficiency. The new system will increase in productivity and tool life with significant part quality advances when compared with conventional crank-driven gear shapers. Work projected productivity may increase up to 100% and tool life by as much as 250%. Part quality levels to DIN 6 (AGMA 11) can also be expected.
