SCHUNK GmbH, represented by Romheld Australia , has released the Sino-T range of toolholders. They cut setup times for metal cutting applications in milling machines and machining centres.
The design uses an elastic pressure medium and C-spanner to securely and uniformly clamp the tool in one move while maintaining concentricity within ±0.005mm.
With vibration damping for quiet running and precision balancing for spindle speeds up to 42,000 rpm, the standard Sino-T toolholders also have a built-in axial length presetting screw for fast, accurate setup.
Tool clamping is direct to the tool shank or via intermediate bushes which accommodate a wide range of sizes from the one tool. Coolant supply can be peripheral or through-the-tool.
Vibrations that occur during the cutting process are damped by the solid body pressure medium which ensures uniform clamping of the tool shank. These features result in longer tool life, improved surface finish and reduced noise.
With the release of the Sino-T range customers can now use the Schunk toolholding system of their choice, selecting from universal, polygonal, hydraulic expansion and heat shrink types. Basic body styles are available for use with SK, MAS-BT and HSK-A spindles.
