THE PushCorp SWS100-3.7 servo weld shaver, available from Romheld , has the power and capability to transform a largely varying profile into a consistent predetermined surface slightly above or below the surrounding parent metal.
The Big Weld Shaver is ready to take on most metals, including cast iron, carbon steel, and stainless steel. This unit excels at removing weld beads and casting parting lines.
The SWS100-3.7 uses a six inch diameter slotting cutter positioned by adjustable rolling guide wheels. The guide wheels can be manually adjusted and set, or with the new auto-adjust option, varied automatically during the weld shaving process. This allows the cutter to machine away the exact amount of material desired.
The twelve replaceable carbide cutter inserts ensure a consistent, smooth cut and long life. Easy access to the inserts allows them to be changed in a matter of minutes.
When confronted with medium to heavy duty robotic material removal work, PushCorp's patented active force controller makes the end-of-arm tooling as good or better than what can be done by a person. It can control contact between the material removal tool and the product.
Basically, with control of both media speed and force, robots can perform consistently high quality material removal operations.
PushCorp offers both passive and active force control compliance devices. The active force instruments maintain the applied force of the material removal tool. Should any variation in the force be sensed by the system, it will adjust accordingly.
This device is capable of compensating for acceleration and gravity for a given force applied to the surface of the piece being worked. This facilitates the use of higher tool speeds, particularly when the surface has an irregular shape or profile.
