THE trend towards turning centres equipped with live tooling for milling, drilling and tapping operations has spawned the development of an extensive range of live tooling units which can be adapted to these machines.
The Madaula company, represented by Romheld Australia , and known for its multi-spindle drilling heads, speed increasers and angle heads, has just released a comprehensive new catalogue of live tooling for CNC lathes.
Featuring a wide range of precise and rigid tools, each with preloaded bearings, hermetically sealed spindles and greased for life, they can be adapted to virtually any model of machine.
Amongst others, the new catalogue includes live tooling for Mazak, Okuma, Daewoo, Haas, Mori-Seiki and Nakamura, which are all popular lathes in Australia.
Also catered for are Swiss style lathes such as Tornos and Citizen. Simply select the make and model of machine to find the direct equivalent Madaula unit which is completely interchangeable with the original.
Options include internal coolant supply, left hand versions, adjustable and fixed angle types, speed increase/reduction ratios, various output configurations, plus Y-axis and multi-spindle units.
In addition, units based on the standard design can be specially made to suit individual requirements. This is particularly useful when the unit must operate within confined spaces such as internal cross holes where a very narrow head extension is necessary.
Madaula claims more than 5,000 different types of live tool have been manufactured, emphasising its long association with the development of this technology.
The range is supported by collets and a full line of static lathe toolholders.
