ROMACO FrymaKoruma, represented in Australia by Romaco Bosspak , has designed and manufactured a ketchup production plant with a capacity of 8t/h. The completely automated plant consists of four MaxxD 1300 vacuum processing units , several feed hoppers, buffer tanks and two Frytherm SWT/C-60 scraped-surface heat exchanges.
Each MaxxD is equipped with a feed hopper for liquids installed on load cells. These feed hoppers are directly connected with a buffer tank for tomato puree from which the tomato puree is fed into the plant. The processing units also have a feed hopper for dry components including a vibrator. Small quantities such as flavours are fed with a hopper.
In order to be able produce mayonnaise, each processing unit is equipped with an additional feed socket on the mixing chamber for direct dosing of oil. In case o hot filling, the ketchup is directly pumped from the buffer tank to the filling line. For a cold filling two scraped surface-heat exchangers Frytherm are used to cool down the product to the required temperature.
The plant is completely automated and equipped with a recipe manager and the operator panel. The modular design combines two processing units, one buffer tank and one scraped surface heat exchanger in one line. This allows production on one line while cleaning the other.
The MaxxD offers high flexibility, rapid batch times, easy cleaning and high product quality thanks to its agitator, which is designed to ensure maximum product movement in all directions. It is suitable for the manufacture of mayonnaise, ketchup, sauces and salad dressings and in the cosmetics sector for lotions, creams and gels.
