The Roland Print & Design Centre, part of Australia's first secondary school Trade Training Centre, was recently opened with investment from Roland DG , with the support of Conect Enterprises, through the supply of vital printing machinery and consumables to drive all the creative needs of the centre.
The Trade Training Centre, at the Catholic Regional College Sydenham, operates business units where students can learn a practical trade in a fully functioning business that is open to the public. The Roland Print & Design Centre is one such program where students can gain experience in the signage and graphics arts industry. Students receive quality training in the field of sign manufacture and can study to achieve a VET Certificate II in Signage.
"Roland DG and Conect's generous involvement in this exciting educational initiative cements a vital link between the school and the signage industry," says CRC Sydenham Principal Brendan Watson on this partnership.
"This is a unique collaboration that will benefit hundreds of students over the next few years. Partnerships with industry leaders like Roland DG are crucial so that students can have such opportunities," adds Watson.
Roland DG supplied printing machinery for the Trade Training Centre, including an RS-640 printer, VP-540i Printer/Cutter, a GX-500 50" Cutter, and a Metaza MPX-80 Photo Impact Printer. Conect Enterprises will be the major supplier of all signage materials to the school, such as digital media, sign vinyls and accessories.
"Roland DG is proud to be investing in the future of the Graphic Arts and Signage industry," says John Wall, Sales & Marketing Manager at Roland DG.
"Catholic Regional College Sydenham is a progressive and innovative school and we are excited to partner with them to give the students access to the very best equipment to learn the skills needed to excel when they enter the workforce," adds Wall.
"There is a real skill shortage in our industry. I know that by Conect supporting the Trade Training Centre at Catholic Regional College Sydenham, we can help create exciting career paths for students. This will directly benefit our customers by being able to hire job ready professionals who have the experience necessary to be effective from their first day at work," says Paul Coniglio, Marketing Manager at Conect Enterprises.
