Roland DG Australia has announced the release of a new model in its range of VersaUV UV-LED desktop inkjet printers, which allows users to create customised, high quality graphics on almost any surface.

Featuring a flatbed table that measures 335 x 310mm, VersaUV LEF-12 inkjet printers print CMYK and white and clear inks, with options available to add rich special effects such as:

  • white graduation effects
  • matte and high-gloss finishes for area highlights or floods; and
  • custom textured effects including faux leather, crocodile skin and Braille.
In addition, LEF-12 printers support two print modes. Standard mode is designed for printing fine detail on level surfaces, while distance printing mode is suitable for printing on objects where the surface is not level.

The UV-LED lamp used in these printers cures UV inks instantly, allowing users to print directly onto a wide range of substrates including plastic materials, wood and leather, as well as papers and film.

It also operates immediately, without pre-heating or cooling down between use, and has an estimated life of around 10,000 hours.

Easy to set up and maintain, LEF-12 desktop inkjet printers are supplied with a safety hood to protect operators from UV light during operation, as well as a dust screen to prevent particles from falling on the surface of materials while printing.

All VersaUV inkjet printers are supplied with VersaWorks RIP software, which provides powerful precision colour management features.
