Rockwell Automation has extended the availability of its Safety Automation Builder software tool to 16 new languages. The software is designed to save time for engineers when designing safety systems.
Helping to simplify Multilanguage projects, Rockwell Automation’s Safety Automation Builder software now allows engineers designing machinery safety systems to more easily collaborate across multiple languages.
Since its launch in February 2013, the Safety Automation Builder software has been downloaded more than 15,000 times and was named one of the top 10 most innovative products at last year's SPS Drives show in Germany.
According to David Reade, business development consultant, safety and sensing, Rockwell Automation, the Safety Automation Builder tool is being used by several manufacturers to simplify selection of safety devices and speed up engineering time. With the enhanced Multilanguage support, they can achieve the same time savings when working across regions and languages.
For instance, a manufacturer in Italy used the Safety Automation Builder tool to collaborate with a systems integrator in Hungary and a machine builder in Germany. The tool automatically translated the original design file into the other languages without changing any of the functional data, cutting engineering time and paperwork for all stakeholders.
The new languages supported by Safety Automation Builder include Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Spanish and Swedish.
The Safety Automation Builder software is available as a free download from the Rockwell Automation website, and requires users to download and run SISTEMA. Though SISTEMA supports only a limited number of languages, the Safety Automation Builder tool’s expanded language functionality allows engineers to create a bill of materials in their local language using the Safety Automation Builder tool, import the data into SISTEMA, and generate a final report without needing to translate the information.
