Rockwell Automation will showcase their expanded suite of process control solutions at Australasian Oil and Gas exhibition (AOG), 2009.
The display will feature SIL3-rated critical-control and safety solutions from ICS Triplex, a company recently acquired by Rockwell Automation, and showcase Rockwell Automation’s partnership activities with instrumentation company, Endress+Hauser.
Rockwell Automation’s Logix multi-disciplinary control platform features high-speed processing, tight integration between programming software, controller and I/O, and a range of communications options.
The Logix multi-disciplinary control platform includes the FactoryTalk production management and performance software suite, designed to simplify data collection and integration with higher-level information systems. It utilises a globally distributed database and enables plant-wide control with the maximum use of information.
The acquisition of ICS Triplex will present opportunities for the oil and gas sectors, including the availability of integrated control and safety solutions (ICSS).
In conjunction with ICS Triplex’s SIL3-rated ‘Trusted’ fault-tolerant safety controller, the Logix multi-disciplinary control platform provides comprehensive, safe control for on- and off-shore operations. Oil and gas stakeholders can protect people and assets with the integration of process and safety control systems and minimise application downtime and improve performance.
According to ICS Triplex, the Rockwell Automation/ICS Triplex solution-set aims to maximise the availability and reliability of a variety of critical-control applications, including emergency shutdown (ESD), fire and gas detection (F&G), burner management systems (BMS) and turbo machinery and compressor control (TMC) systems.
In addition, Rockwell Automation’s alliance with Endress+Hauser demonstrates the Logix multi-disciplinary control platform’s ability to integrate with a range of pre-tested process and measurement solutions, with connectivity to HART, Foundation Fieldbus and Profibus PA process device networks.
